Happy Halloweenie

Maybe she does We just posted up some pictures from our friend Matt & Jenn’s annual Halloween party.  I went as Sailor and Heather was a Red Bull & Vodka (her favorite drink).  We got a late start on the costume shopping, as in we started the night before the party but we were able to pull it off and show up in style.  We got to hang out with the likes of McCain & Palin, Batman & Robin, Kriss & Kross and an awesome Cholo.  We also found out that Matt & Jenn are expecting their first kiddo!  Congrats to you both!  We both had a blast at the party… some a little more than others, honey ;)

We’re now in November and looking forward to the Holidays.  It’s always nice to visit with family and catch up and the food isn’t to shabby either.  I’m still enjoying this awesome weather with last weekend sitting around 80-85 degrees I feel like I live in Florida.

Oh… and since it is Election Day… Get out and Vote!  I know.. the lines suck, just do it!

Hello Oktober

Are you drinking beer?Well… there are only a few days left in Oktober but I wanted to get a monthly update posted to give everybody something to read.  To start with Heather celebrated another birthday and is now proud to tell everybody that she’s finally 21.  She never thought this day would come but surprise surprise it did!  Happy birthday honey.  We also enjoyed volunteering at Oktoberfest for the second year.  We worked on Thursday and Saturday night enjoying the company of good friends, great food (love those brawts), and beer.  I think we both really enjoy volunteering I know our wallets certainly like it.  We have pictures from the evening but my stupid computer is being, well stupid and not letting me upload pictures to the site at the moment.  I’m working on fixing it… promise. *Edit: I was able to get the problem fixed and post some pictures.  Oktoberfest Pics

Heather took her mid-term(s) for her first semester in Law School… I haven’t heard the results yet but I’m sure she did fine on them.  I think she is really looking forward to Winter break and having a little time to herself.  I know I’m looking forward to spending more time with her.

I can’t believe next month is November!  This year is just flying by.. Thanksgiving then Christmas…. New Years and we’re into 2009!  It’s Halloween Friday and the temperature is going to be 75 degrees.  I’m not complaining but I think that might be the reason it doesn’t feel like November yet.  I’m sure this means that January & February are just going to be miserable, cold and dreary.  Yay!

If it’s cold where you live… I hope you’re staying warm.  If it’s warm where you live… I’m jealous.

Crazy Month

Wow, August flew by on us and now we are smack in the middle of September.  Football is already on week three for college and two for the NFL.  The weather is starting to get a little cooler and we haven’t updated you on any of this!  We’re horrible!  So where have we been and what have we been up to?  Well for starters Heather has applied, been accepted and is now in the 4th week of Law School at the University of Tulsa.  Yea.. you read that right in the past month all of that has happened.

The transition has been a little rough because she is still working full time and going to school part time which makes her days really long and mine really boring at home alone.  She seems to be handling it pretty well and enjoying it on most days.   I’m really proud of her for making the decision to go back to school and I think she’s going to make a great attorney.  How can she go wrong… lots of talking and arguing, yeah she’ll do just fine.

I’m pretty bummed out that Summer has all but ended and we’re moving into Fall and then the dreaded Winter!  Winter is so miserable it’s so cold and yuck and you’re stuck inside how boring.

The girls are doing great for those of you who are interested.  Bella is about the size of a small horse weighing in at about 65 lbs. and Snickers is hitting about 35 lbs.  They’re both awesome dogs and we’re really glad we ended up with the both of them even if one of them did pick us *cough* *cough* Snickers *cough*.

In Game Photo OpWe did manage to make it down to Dallas to catch the Rangers vs. Red Sox game.  The Rangers DESTROYED them and then had the favor returned the following day.  I’ll post up some of those photos tonight or tomorrow and give you the details on that trip.  *Edit: View the Rangers Road Trip Pictures Here

Sorry this post has been so random… just wanted to catch you up on some of the stuff we’ve been doing.  We hope everybody is doing well.

Our Night at the Theatre

So here it is, my first blog. Apparently I am in high demand or something. Anyway, Paul and I made a deal, if we went to see Phantom of the Opera, I would blog about it. I got to see Phantom, and now Paul gets his blog :)

I am slowly trying to introduce a little culture into our (read: Paul’s) life. We went to see The Nutcracker last December, which Paul seemed to enjoy quite a bit and we saw Cirque de Soleil “O” in April in Las Vegas. When I saw that Phantom was coming to the PAC this July, I knew we HAD to see that! Ballet is great and all, but with a musical you get singing, dancing AND talking. Way easier to follow for a boy! Usually I like to sit in the mezzanine but for this I was willing to sit up in the balcony to help save a little money. We packed up the binoculars and headed off for a short night on the town. There is just something about going to see a musical or ballet that makes me want to get all dressed up and make a night of it. Apparently I am one of the only ones. The things people wear out of their house to a public venue leave me dumbfounded. Some of these people were dressed like it was Senior Prom 1996 while others looked like they had just rolled out of bed! Seriously people, would it hurt you to have a little class?

Fortunately, Paul and I were seated next to some older people who understood what it means to attend a musical. They were dressed appropriately, quiet during the show and did not try to make small talk. The show was great, the singing was fabulous and the story was easy to follow along. Every time the Phantom’s theme music played, I would get chills, it was THAT good! Paul seemed to be having a good time, he stayed awake for the whole show anyway. And he was always looking through the binoculars, trying to get a better view of the show. I take that as a sign that he had a good time and would be open to maybe going to see “Wicked” next summer? :)

So now you have read my first blog and maybe now you understand why I don’t typically blog…I am not so great at it…but I will see what everyone thinks of this and maybe I will do another one…guess you will just have to keep checking back to find out!

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

I know Memorial Day was over a week ago but I’ve just now recovered from my sunburn to allow me to sit in a chair. Heather of course left the lake with a beautiful bronze tan while I returned home looking like a lobster, again. We headed out to Blue Bill Point on Lake Ft. Gibson to meet up with the family on Saturday morning. This was our first trip to take with the girls so we were a little nervous about how well they would do in the car. We loaded up all of our camping stuff and strapped the girls kennel’s to the top of the car and headed out for the weekend.

We made it to the campsite around 11ish and setup camp and after all that hard work we finally had time to sit down and enjoy a tasty beverage before getting our turn on the boat. I was able to get a few passes in on the wakeboard before I passed out from exhaustion! I haven’t really been active at all since my knee surgery last September and boy did it show. The weather was great everyday with the exception of Sunday night’s rain. We headed down to Fun Island, a small island on the lake with a sandy beach, on Sunday for a couple of hours just to check it out. The recent flooding had the lake in pretty bad shape but the weekend was a blast overall. Don’t forget to check out our Memorial Day Pictures.

I’ve been pretty busy putting the final touches on my annual float trip coming up on the 21st of June. This year we have four bands booked and the fun starts on Friday and goes through Sunday. This should be our best trip yet as long as the weather cooperates. If you’re bored or interested in attending the event this year feel free to check out the site Frosty Keg Float.

We also wanted to send out our Congratulations to our friends Dustin and Jae who just found out they are expecting a new baby boy (yes, it’s a boy… I just know these things) in February.  Heather and I are looking forward to being one cool Aunt and Uncle to the little tike.
